Penta Foods Body Case Study
Nature of business:
Specialists in the world’s finest foods, focusing, more than anything, on the spice industry.
The company is based in Farnborough, Hampshire and Eccles, Manchester. Penta Foods’ multi-drop operation serves the London market-place for top restaurants and UK wide to support its national contracts.
Problems faced by the client:
Ever increasing pressure on payload, due to the ever increasing demand for its products. Trying to get more value out of transport.
To create a lightweight design with the flexibility to carry a range of mix-temperature goods.
A lightweight 7.5 tonne vehicle was designed and built with the ability to operate at both frozen and chilled temperatures. The Fuso Canter box bodied vehicle has been fitted with an alloy tail lift and a movable bulkhead which enables each compartment size to be varied according to the load mix. A heavy gauge, non-slip alloy floor was also incorporated into the design for pallet work. The vehicle is also to be liveried with Penta Foods’ eye-catching corporate identity.
